It's getting close to the time of year again for the annual pilgrimage. I'm mounting up and heading south on Wed 16th planning on arriving at Phillip Island on Thurs night.
Are there any other forum members who will be there? May be able to catch up.

Love to Gaz but the bank manager has different plans for my money.
I have never made it to Phillip Island there has always been something getting in the way.... one day I suppose.

Rick, I'm there every year so you're always welcome to join me. I went in 2000 to do it "once in my life" and was hooked and have kept going ever since.

There's two rides on top of my list for next year, one is Phillip Island Motogp and the other is the Wall to Wall Police remembrance ride. So next Year in October you can count me in, hope you have a top time at the Island, enjoy the ride.

Hey Gaz, How did you enjoy the flag to flag race at the Island? It seems bridgestone couldn't get it right, maybe they need the other tyre manufactures back in the game. Costly mistake by Marquez. The Island always seems to bring up the unexpected.

Yeah Smithy, the flag to flag was exciting but Bridgestone really didn't do their homework as the resurfacing was apparently done months ago. After qualifying the race was supposed to be 26 instead of 27 laps with a bike change by lap 14. After warm up on Sunday morning it was down to 19 laps with a change by lap ten. Around the circuit (and obviously in the Marquez pit) there was mass confusion about what was going on. A lot of the public, including me, felt short changed as the Moto2 was a very short race as well.
As usual I had a good time. Took the R80G/S and had a big day on the Wednesday going down, 945 kms with about 300 of that on dirt. No cops or traffic the way I went. Freezing cold with hail over the mountains on Thursday, typical of a trip to the island.
