Hello all,

I am new to the BMW world but not to motorcycle rehab and repair (I have quite a few mid 70's Honda CB's) and am purchasing a K100 project bike.  All I really know is that is has 11k miles, hasn't been registered in almost 10 years, the tank is full of bad gas, and that the motor isn't frozen.

I am always up for input or ideas so feel free to chime in.

Let me be the first to welcome you.

You'll want to use the search feature to identify such problems that others have already written about. That'll give you a leg-up on fixing things. Cool

One thing we like to see here are pictures of the bike, also a serial number so we can look up its specs here: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/index.do That serial number goes in you profile so you don't have to continually post it. Idea

Low mileage bikes can be a bit of a problem to make fully functional, I'm sure there are others on this board who have similar experiences.

So, you've come to the right place, good luck, hope to see you out on the road sometime.
