Hello everyone. My name is Kristian. Own a 1990 BMW K100RS ABS.  The more I ride the bike the more I love it. I did something stupid last week. I was passing a slow truck on the left when he decided to make a left turn. I fared well, a little road rash and a sore shoulder. The front faring of the K100 is ruined, I saved parts for brackets and hardware. I mounted a headlight and a bar end mirror onto it for now. I would like to find a replacement front faring. aftermarket or used stock. The street fighter look is ok but it gets  bit windy over 80MPH, right when the bike begins to cruse. I have called all around northern California without luck. Any help would be great.

Hi Kristian welcome to the Knuthaus.
The RS fairings do come up for sale from time to time if you put a wanted to buy in the Buy and sell section a few more might see it. I seem to recall that there was one for sale by a US member a short while ago but sometimes you have to be quick.

Hi Kristian
Welcome to the forum. Crap luck with the bike, but at least you are mostly ok.
Any damage to the truck?
If you haven't had a chance to 'play' with the bike yet, at least sticking a new fairing on will give you time to get to know her.

The damage is much the same as my LT. Plastic damage, pannier brackets, petrol tank, right hand engine cover.

To go naked I need a rear cowl/indicators/light/fender [have one], headlight/indicator unit up front, fill/spray tank, replace cover and gasket [have them].

Not much financial sense in getting another fairing.....but the RT and LT front fairing seem to be the same so could be worth buying a donor bike.......

Thank you all. I have been riding around and still enjoying it. My wife has told me to sell it and buy "something nice" what a gal Very Happy .  Rossko there was damage to the truck at the front of the bed and the back of the cab. It has been a week and the road rash scabs are falling off. the sholder is just a little sore.  I have found newer K1300 online here for around $10K. I hope to pick one up in a few months. I need to save up some money for it. Kristian

I remember someone recently selling a Sprint fairing setup in Victoria BC which is north of you. That would be an awesome way to go if you want to keep the bike.

Just had another thought. I've seen a few pics of a k1100RS fairing put onto a K100 and it looked awesome. Maybe worth a look?
