When I turn on the ignition switch, the clock and gear indicator come on as well as the other lights but they are all dim.
Looks like not enought voltage.
When I hit the starter button, they all go out and you can hear relays chattering.

It looks like a load on the battery.

I cleaned the ignition switch and every connector I could find with dioxit.
Checked and cleaned the grounds.

I cleaned all the connectors on the fuel injection connector also.

The speedo shows 24,000 mi but there could be more on it.

Any Ideas???

The battery is fine. I checked it with a battery load tester.

I will put odds on that the battery is shagged. Try a new battery and see what happens, even maybe a jumper from the car battery.

Could also be caused by bad connection at the kill switch, have a look here.

check the earth to the gearbox ...? undo It and clean it up
