Hello All.

This is my first season riding, and in April I picked up an 85 K100. Its been a blast, but has a few small issues and I am getting ready to put some work into the bike. Also getting ready for a 2000mi trip in 2 weeks.

I've lurked around the forum and it looks like a great resource. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Hi Travis welcome to the forum. If you go to the Portal page and have a poke through the page called "youhave just bought a K100 so what now" it will give you some invaluable hints on what needs checking on a K when you first start riding it.

Welcome Travis - That's a sweet little find....Not sure about the matching Silencer but that's just my taste. Plenty of info here to help you get ready for a big trip and we love trip reports and pictures of places we'll never get to ride ourselves. So enjoy the K and the forum and keep us posted.

As others have said, go through the just bought a BMW and go from there good luck on your big trip, fluids and filters change the lot for the approved genuine stuff at leas first time round till you know how it should perform. If you are doing a big trip treat every electrical connector to a shot of DeoxIT after you disconnect it and plug it back in.
