Damn now the foot brake does not operate the brake light?

The brake light works from the hand brake so I guess the problem is not with the bulb or the fuse?

I put a multimeter on the wire that goes to the foot brake at the connection on the right side of the bike frame and I have the voltage, but it does not seem to get past the switch on the brake.

If this is the switch with the plunger, they cannot be repaired. The only fix is to buy a new one at BMW.

You can prove that the switch is bad by disconnecting it and jumping the connection.

That was the problem and I am off to buy a new one at BMW in the morning. The switch is flimsy and in a position where it will be in contact with all the dirt and water it can take.
