Hello everyone,
My name is Pete, and I’m Australian. I recently acquired a K100RS and would like to join the forum.
Like some others, I am returning to motorcycling, after a short twenty-year break. Although I’m
approaching the half-ton milestone, this is my first BMW; in fact my first road bike.
My riding history consists mainly of dirt bikes. I began as a teenager and did a heap of trail riding and some club level racing in my twenties.
Then I faded out of riding to do the family thing.
Originally from Melbourne, we now live in Cairns.
Recently, a friend here turned up with a K100, and overseveral many beers, convinced me that I too should get one. I’d never really thought about buying a BMW, but as I looked into it, found the price of these machines quite attractive when
compared to other “classics". K bikes are not so common in this part of the world, so I bought a bike in NSW and trucked it up North. Until I got this bike, I'd never ridden a BMW”. I am now coming to grips with both riding and maintaining it. Let's just say, it's growing on me.
