Hi All,
So my K11 came with stuff in a bag. I would guess its more than 10 yrs old. Small metal cylinders and some other stuff.
I probably should replace with a new kit. not lookin for trouble , but if I dont pack it the inevitable will happen.
Came across this one from the lads in Cork.
Puncture repair kit Hi_lev10

and this
Puncture repair kit Weldti10

Any opinions on either or the use of.

I have the one with the little gas cartridges and they are a great job, the HiLevel. Got it at Lee Motorcycles in Cork.

Depending on your tyre sizes 1 or 2 will reinflate. You can also pack a small footpump or bicycle pump for good measure. At least with these you can repair a puncture in middle of nowhere, or help a fellow rider out of a puncture. But you are limited in that the repair kit, as with any plug repair, only works with neat holes.

The "rats tails" (in the photo) are much better than the lozenge shaped rubber bungs of the OE kit. I've used them often, they don't need lathering with glue and I've seen as many as six used in a Conti TKC to seal a tear.

I stopped using the "sparklet" cylinders some while ago in favour of a small 12v compressor. The cylinders are okay but will not fully inflate a tyre (they're not supposed to).

Never use more than two cylinders as the third is a waste. The pressure in the tyre after two cylinders is greater than that in the third cylinder. Stick in two, that's enough to get you to the nearest air-line and save the third for another time.

My kit comprises ten rats tails (cheap as chips on ebay), the combined reamer and insert tool from an OE kit and the mini compressor (not one of those £3.99 things from petrol stations, something a little more robust).

The air in the old cylinders should still be good even after many years, the only thing that could happen is they loose there air... So if you get an additional kit it would be worth keeping the air cylinders rather than binning them (I am tight I admit it)

Add a piece of chalk to the pack, once you get the nail or screw out it can be difficult to see the actual hole. Well I'm a blind old git so maybe it's just me. I used the rats tail set up, neat and easy and despite all advice I did another 10,000 klm on that tyre. (you are supposed to got and get it vulcanised from the inside at first chance).
