Hi all
I've not had much chance yet to meet many / any of you folks - me being based mainly in Spain and not riding much over recent months - but I hope to rectify this as I spend more time on two wheels in 2013.
One example of which is the 2013 ABRAC "round the UK" charity ride - in aid of prostate cancer. And let's be honest guys - we do all want our bits to be kept in order - so a good cause methinks - see: http://www.abrac.org.uk/index.html
Hence my volunteering to pick up the baton at the Taffy Dakar in mid-Wales on the UK May Bank Holiday weekend - see: http://www.taffydakar.co.uk/
Then hang on to it for a few days in the Cardiff area while I do a bit of work etc - and then take it over to Northern Ireland to meet up with like minded souls at the ABR rally the following weekend - where it will be passed on to other riders planning to take it further north - see: http://www.adventurebikerider.com/forum/97-may-2013-abr-ireland-rally-10th-11th-12th.html
If anyone is around at the Taffy Dakar - please keep an eye open for me and come over to say hello.
If anyone fancies riding with me from Pontypridd up to the Taffy Dakar on Sunday 5 May - feel free to shout and we'll work up a plan.
If anyone fancies riding back from the Taffy to Pontypridd-ish with me on Monday 6 May - again feel free to shout.
AND
If anyone is really feeling an adventure growing and wants to ride with me from Pontypridd to Holyhead (up through the wonderful mid Wales) on Friday 10 May - and/or hop a ferry over the Dublin - and ride up into the north of the emerald isle - I would again feel blessed by your company.
I know a few of you are planning to be at the ABR bash - so please keep an eye out for me and come and say hello.
Don't worry about riding styles or speeds - I tend to bimble along at a steady pace with a good amount of stops and will be riding Idris - my XT660 to the Taffy - hardly a fast bike - and most likely my 26 year old K100LT over to Ireland (so some of you can point out to me where the oil is coming from ).
And please shout if this is something that grabs your imagination - and any suggestions as you how we can boost the fundraising along the way would be most welcome. See: https://www.justgiving.com/adventurebikeridersagaintcancer/
Hope to see you on the road.
