Here is a "how to" switch your lock barrels, I`ll guess the internals is a bit different in your old model cap.

With my 178 cm, I have no such problems. Back in 2003, when I just bought my bike, I installed the "Secdem" raised screen (source: www.motobins.co.uk). Unfortunately, it broke while bike was being transported from the Netherlands, so I replaced it with K 100 RT screen - couldn't get LT's. After a few hundred kms in quite a rainy and windy weather, I feel no need for getting again the raised one or, for that matter, even LT's...

I see their prices for topcases and panniers is decent too. It's a pity they sell only Givi, and not Hepco & Becker and/or Krauser - these are more suited to match original BMWs, and K 100 bikes design in general.

Thanks, I know about Siebenrock (from them I got the 1000 ccm cylinder increase kit to increase my former R 80's), and I have no problem communicating in German, but their web site doesn't give the prices. http://www.bmwbayer.de/ gives 189 € for TK 50 topcase (with VAT; export price 159), but I would rather go for one of the all-black slightly smaller models from Hepco & Becker Junior range, 30, 40 or even 45 litres. Needs not to hold TWO helmets, just one is enough (my Nolan N 100 can't fit in either of the panniers), BMW's K 1100 topcase is simply ugly, and this from 50 litres looks disproportionately big to me.

50 ltr with original tp look smaller. There is no air between bike and topcase, it sits just exactly.It was made just for K

What interests me - how do you install it on the bike? What happens with the original BMW's luggage rack, do you keep it or have to install another one?
