Gidday,
Yep another new member, and to make matters worse another aussie.
Had bikes all my life, dirts bikes as kids, then Yamaha FJ1100 and 1200 in my late teens and early twenties, then done the crazy "harley" thing cause my mates were into them but how disappointing that was, then no bikes as marriage, house and family came along, mid 30's I brought a 1983 R100RT, then a R100RS which I loved and only sold a few years ago due to my father passing away and leaving behind a 1928 Chevrolet tourer in his shed, 10,300miles on the clock but needing a resto job as dad mentioned in hospital.
This I restored over a two year period 2010 -2011with the help of a good friend and during this time I lost all interest in bikes, so I sold my beautiful R100rs.
The car is now fully road registered, extremely reliable and I am never parting with it in my life time, this link below is my car blog link.

So now since the car resto is done, I have had one eye on bikes again, I have always liked the K100RS, although have never ridden a "K" model beemer before, then a few weeks ago I stumbled onto a 1993 K1100LT, no ex-cop bike, appearance in excellent condition, price was great, but it had an electrical fault, so I got it cheaper and brought it home on the trailer from melbourne unregistered.
First ride ever on a "K" and an unregistered one at that up through the twisty gippsland hills and bloody hell I am sold, it goes like the clappers and super comfy as you would all know, yes I will have a few questions about the speedo which I will post up soon.
So there, yes I am new to K Beemers, love servicing and maintaining my bikes, cars, lawnmowers etc and I am not afraid to have a good crack at any mechanical issue once I get pointed in the right direction.
I live in Gippsland Australia and have ran my small signshop (yes brush painted signs) for close to 30 years..
Life is good to us.
Cheers Grant
