Hi,

Today I had a call from a new member of the UK BMW Club. He has a 1984 K100 which is reluctant to start (standing for 10 years!), and was looking for a diagnostic tool (I run the Tool Hire facility for the Club).

I pointed out a few of the obvious things, like bad fuel rotting the tanks internals, and cleaning contacts, but also pointed him in the direction of this fountain of knowledge. So expect to hear from Alex in a day or so!

Cheers Rick,

I've already told him that we will get his bike running again. At the moment it will only run if he sprays starter fluid in the intake.

He has checked and swapped out the fuel pump, filter and FPR.

yeah another 84...wooowooo...sounds like a fuel issue such as injectors as he has changed all the rest....also look at induction leaks...which is the same result as too little fuel....the fun begins.

He said that he had the injectors out and all were spraying fuel.

I sent him an email this morning to say we are keen to assist him on the forum.
