Just saying hi. I'm pretty much new to motorcycles. I bought an old Honda v30 from a friend of mine last summer so that I could have a smaller easy to learn on machine. I was looking for an old Gold Wing or something like that when I found the k100. What have I become?

Anyway I got her for $2k and put a new set of Metzler's on her and a new rear shock. The guy I got her from bought her back in '92 and has only put 5500 miles on her in over 20 years. Sounds crazy eh? She currently has 33k miles - man she's beautiful.

I've managed to figure out that the side kick stand should only be used during the summer for EPA approved mosquito fogging events. She's got some issues and minor cosmetic flaws but she's awesome!

sounds like you may have had a real win there...would need to see pictures as thats how we roll around here....and then the comments will come and suggestions and etc etc etc....contribute with questions pictures and later answers...they are a good bunch and very diverse...

I'd forgotten all about that. Mine would only smoke up once in 40 or 50 starts, but when she did. . . . .
The most memorable was in the small tourist town of Tilba Tilba. I think I managed to fill the whole little valley near the ABC Cheese Factory with thick, grey smoke that day.

Hello, Dogolden! Welcome to the fray. I just did the same thing you did. K100 falls in my lap, and here I am. Waiting to ride, the snow needs to be below 4 inches for the maiden voyage. I noticed that you were from Etats Unis. is that far away? Do they have McDonalds there? Good to have you with us.
