Hi All,
A recent incident with a friends Suzuki Intruder where his battery expired left me wondering how I could either get jump started by someone or give a jump start to someone. I had seen some neat battery jump start posts for the R series and with a fair bit of net research found they are a standard BMW item the screw is • 61 13 7 671 354 and the protective cap is • 61 13 7 672 395.
The earth post fits very nicely in place of the socket head screw which screws the earth cables to the gearbox down by the footrest. That then gives a good negative terminal to get the jump clips gripped onto. A bracket needs to be made to connect to the battery positive which will then take the positive connection jump terminal.
A definite good add on for the bike.
