Hello to all,

I've never driven a K bike but that will change soon. I've owned BMWs for 33years and still have the first one. I'm looking forward to trying out the bike I've been building all winter. Ibought it as a total wreck for $150. I haven't even tried to build it stock, But it should at least be fun to ride.

Later,

Thanks for your interest. I really haven't got a feel for what would be interesting or what would be considered sacrilege. Trust me both are included. Mods include enhanced suspension, braking, and tires.I'll do a write up when time allows.

Outstanding KC. I've been riding BMW's since my first R90/6 back in 1977.
Now that we have two (2) members from New Hampshire perhaps we can start a club! Laughing

F.Y.I. Have installed new tires to improve handling on my old '85 K100RT, these are;
Bridgestone Battlax BT45 110/90-18 Front
Bridgestone Spitfire S11 130/90-17 Rear

These are the same overall specs for the K100S, and I've found them very responsive as the bike now flies into the corners and changes lanes with a snap. The downside is a bit less braking efficiency on the front, but that may ultimately be offset by a brake upgrade.

What the?
Obviously your K must handle very differently to my old one - it always felt like it had a hinge in the middle of the frame lol!
Didn't slow me down though. Very Happy

You apparently never rode a Z900 Kawasaki or a Z1300 now they did have a hinge.

But I will say that a bad rear shockie on anything will make it wollow in the corners like a hippo in a mud puddle.
The OEM shockies on a K were nothing to write home about after a few thousand kilometers

Welcome to the forum! $150US you say? That must stand as some sort of record. We'll be interested to see what you do with it.
