Ok since I had swing arm problems and fan not working. I desided to pull the 1986rs down to the frame and redo it from the ground up. My plan for the finished bike is it to do a tribute to my dad and the others who served in the military. I'm going to try and cover the plastic with desert army camo. The frame will be light brown, the motor will be flat black the engine covers will be tan and cream wheel will be flat black with tan in the spokes. the seat will be black with brown piping(its blue now) thank god for vimyl dye. I spent the morning tearing it down god bless the germans never get this far on a rice burner. so far only have to problems the clutch dust boot is tore and got a couple wires that are heat dried god bless shrink wrap. here are some pictures well tried twice to load pics will get some later

well the tear down is down motor is sittin on the ground waiting on soda blaster to get here then the work starts will post some pic in a bit have to warm up a bit lol

I'm impressed mate, taken me 3 years to get the swing arm off my old wreck.
Did you drain the oil first? if my wife sees that it'll be the end of my breakdown( or the start of another one)
