hey,
picked this up locally a couple of weeks ago along with a wrecked 90 r100gspd. the seller apparently bought the contents of the deceased owners garage to get a mustang he wanted. an all or nothing deal.
i guess the biggest distraction is its still on the certificate of origin from 1985. the original owner was a car dealer in st louis who ran all his vehicles on dealer plates, never transfered the mso into his name and obtained a title. if the bike passes muster i'll start the process to get one.
pretty cool bike. i'm sure not everones cup of tea, but i was instantly smitten with the pichler fairing and body kit. all the bodywork is in amazingly good shape, just some small chips and rub marks.
the bike starts, runs, rides, shifts, etc. motor sounds great. it should though with 6900 miles on it.
i'm admittedly no mechanic so it will be dropped off at one of two places here in st louis to get it up to snuff. fluids change, brakes overhauled, and a new set of bt45's which i already have.
then put some miles on this 'bahn burner. figure it will be a good cold weather rider. bonus- it came with a set of new in the plastic set of bmw hard bags.
