Pressure of work and family have prevented me getting out for weeks so when the forcast was for mild and dry today I wasn't about to miss another weekend spin. The morning got away from me but I managed to roll out the gate at 2pm, leaving me about 2 hrs daylight, but despite the forecast rain was spreading from the west and to the North. Not having any fixed destination I headed south where it looked brighter and drier. The bike had fired to life on the button and I detoured slightly to take in a stretch of the motorway as I fancied a bit of a quick run and the LT was running verry nicely. I ended up in the town of Enniscorthy and wondered where to go next, then decided to go see Vinegar Hill, the site of the rebel stronghold in the rebellion of 1798. I had passed it many times and never had the time to stop and view it. The views were impressive despite the low cloud cover and after walking to the summit and taking a few pictures I headed back towards the coast as the rain was settling in from the west. I enjoyed trolling around the backroads but staying alert for greasy patches on the damp mucky and leaf strewn single track roads. On the way back I made a quick stop to view the very atmospheric Christmas country market at the 350 year old Wells House, being restored by a brave German couple and bought a pannier & glovebox full of artisan cakes.

I arrived home after dark feeling smug for staying dry behind the LT fairing and grinning like Charlie99!

Some pics loaded on this Flickr photo stream for those who enjoy such things.

I finished off the evening munching down the produce whilst warming my toes by a roaring fire.....wish I could do it every Sunday Rolling Eyes

You got a good day it seems.

Nice to see we are all on the same wavelength...should have gone to Stradbally....It was a nice day in Cork and having taken the K out yesterday to to go to town I parked it up last night with a full tank....which was duly consumed today on a bike run that seems to have attracted around 500.......a nice K75 Ultima and my LT were the only two bricks.

Now for 29th December all going well???

I was due to go on that (toy) run as well, but the guy I was supposted to be going with had to back out at the last minute.

So I went down to Courtmacsherry for a spin and call into the brother for a coffee. It was a beautiful day in Cork, a bit chilly but the heated grips sorted that.

Did I see you coming up Carrs Hill at about 2pm on Saturday? (I was in the car, so you wouldn't have noticed me)

Corkboy.......indeed you did see me on Saturday.....I did not feel like battling traffic in the car and as you noted it was a nice day....

Had coffee with 88KE this evening.....plans well sorted for 29th December.
