Afternoon All,

After a few months of reading I decided to join the crowd.

Sitting in the garage is a red 1991 K75S. Originally I collected it in Munich as Euro delivery bike, hence it has ABS. The only major issues have been waterpump and ABS. Earlier this year we put the third battery in her.

It has to compete with an F series so does not get out a lot. Crying or Very sad

Cheers, Dave.

Welcome Dave....

New year outing is nice. Its middle of winter here for us but we have a tentative outing for Saturday 29th December...its a rather nice website and some good runs. Great for technical stuff too, both maintenance and modifications. If you need to know the best angle your pint glass should be held at, this is your place to find out.

Remembering of course that our friends in the Antipodes will be upside down, and (especially with Guinness) the coriolis effect will have to be factored in.

I find the best angle is enough so that the amber nectar enters the mouth, but not too much that it runs down your chin. Finally decided to join 22936

Thanks fellahs,

Shucks, I'm getting all embarrased with all this good will.

I guess I need a kick up the backside to get me back in the saddle again. As long as we keep north of the border. Don't want any of those Mexicans spoiling the party.

Cheers, Dave.

Aw, that's no good. When I come back to Queensland to take one of your non-existent jobs, can I wear my sombrero?

Finally decided to join Sombre10

For those of you overseas who don't get the reference, Queenslanders typically (and somewhat archaically) refer to Victorians (A state in southern Australia, where I happen to be from, originally) as Mexicans from way back in the '80/'90s because they seemed to be bailing from their own state to move up North where the weather is nicer and there were at the time, more chances of getting a job. Sounds familiar to many in Estados Unidos, no? Queensland also has a town along the NSW border, with a river running through it, called Texas. To make matters worse, folks from the state of New South Wales are often referred to as Cockroaches by Queenslanders, who are known as Banana Benders by others. Western Australians are Sand Gropers. I've heard South Australians are known as Crow Eaters. And of course we have Taswegians for Tasmanians. That state unfortunately gets the American "Appalachian" or "Ozarks" reference too, but it's quite loverly and I spent six very good years of my childhood there. See, we have enough mud to sling about everyone, including ourselves!

All in fun, until "someone gets hurt."

What a lovely country.

Why did the Australian colonies joined to become one nation?
I guess you were too friendly with the people of your own colonies and needed new ones to make fun of.
You succeeded! Finally decided to join 44271

Don't worry, we act the same in Canada, but in fact we like each others.

We didn't get around to it until 1901.

Perhaps it's just a healthy (?) dose of old-fashioned Aussie xenophobia to keep things interesting.

The Romans and Brits had it right; in order to rule you divide the masses then you've conquered them. Give the people an enemy, however close or near, this team against that, Libs and Labor, Dems against Republicans, Kiwis or Poms against Ockers.

This is many-fold; to subtly assert your dominance, the fact that you're in control but still taking care of your charges, and, you keep the proletariat feeling safe, chirping and feeling alright about their tenuous little perch.

scratch
It's all in the history books. But sometimes you have to read between the lines.
