I have an indicator gremlin on my bike (K100rs) the l/h side all works great, but the right hand side sometimes changes to full hazard mode? the seperate hazard mode works great? it seems like the r/h indicator comes on one flash, and then all indicators start flashing.

Any idea's

You have a connection problem at the switched power supply to the flasher relay.
Check terminals at fuse #7.

What should I be looking for? Also where do they hide the flasher relay, and how do you get to it? Do I have to strip the bike down to access the electrics?:pale:

Check that you got a good connection at fuse #7, and that the terminals is clean (no corrosion).
Test the horn........which using the same fuse.

The flasher relay you find in the rear left corner of the relay box, under the rear end of the tank.

Horn works fine,

fuses all seem clean

Does this mean getting the tank off? if so how does it come off

Could be that it is a bad connection at the socket, or the relay itself.

When you are at the relay, put the RHS flasher on and try to give the relay a couple of gentle knocks with the rear end of a screwdriver.
You could also try to wiggle the relay a bit in the socket.

Is the problem present all the time, or only now and then?

You might be able to do just by raising the rear of the tank.

I lengthened my fuel lines slightly [perished so used longer replacements] so I can lift tank well clear to access relay box wouth disconnecting the fuel lines. I alos relocate dthe earth from the tank to allow this. I now only have to separate the fuel pump connectors and they are easy to get to. I prop the rear of the tank and have full access with a bendy screw driver and either cross head or socket to remove any of the relays or units.

If you are doing this just after running the bike disconnect the fuel pmp line sand rin the engine until cut out to remove the fuel pressure.

Its not a difficult job. I have to remove fairing left side knee panel and storage pocket and also the 2 internal baffles but they are easy to do.

renewed my indicator relay recently, (£68, ouch ). just lifed up the seat, popped the tank up 2 inches, levered open the fusebox lid, unscrew the 2 holding screws, and lift the relay out. (the old relay had extensive corrosion inside, as it was'nt sealed at the bottom, but the new one is.)

The problem sorted itself out today?

I finally got a chance to fit the correct rear indicators today, but while I had both rear sets removed I tried the front indicators and still had the same problem, so I fitted the new rears, and tried again, but this time I had a blown bulb on the R/H side, which made the front indicator go at twice the normal speed, on replacing the bulb the problem had cured itself, I am guessing it was relay related, maybe a lazy contact, and the buzz of going faster cleaned it up?

Anyway it sure looks better with the correcrt rear units in place.

But now it looks as though I will have to sell it, as the owner of the garage I rent, has sold them all to a developer, so my bike collection has to go.Crying or Very sad

Now that is a shame. That beauty is a K1100RS in all but name, and better looking to boot. Embarassed
