I'm looking to put some accordion rubber gaiters or boots on my forks to protect the chrome tubes. We have a goodly amount of chipped roads in the area.

I don't see any listed for the K-series of bikes. With the fork brace, the gaiter would have to replace the current rubber parts to fit - or be placed above them.

I cannot see any thread in this forum other than for neoprene boots.

Do other BMW models (that have boots) fit the K-series forks? My forks have the front rib.

Cheers, M

Great price, thank you. Any problems with the fit on the bottom tube?

Did you see that Triumph now has a Steve McQueen limited edition Bonny out now? - just looking at your picture.

Thank you.

I had a modern era Bonny for about 30,000 miles - the quality is excellent. I couldn't get it to fit right for long distance - seat, bars - it didn't matter what I swapped out, I felt like I was being cut in half under the shoulder blades.
It was my 4th Bonny in 30 years.

Nice looking ride M! What are your dimensions if you don't mind me asking?

5' 10" 200lbs - reasonably fit - just ran 3 miles.
Longer legs, shorter torso - a bit tight in the upper body (I think that was the problem) as I've been swinging a hammer for 35 years.

The build quality was great - I warped the front rotor coming down from rabbit ears pass in CO from 11,600' -But that was fully loaded and behaving like an idiot.

It runs the same tires as the K bike.

Thanks for sharing mate! That's just about my build minus 50#. Still looks like it would be a blast for tearing around town on shorter trips...

Hi M,

I made a set of fork protectors from a pair of 50mm pvc pipe fittings and a small length of 50mm pipe to protect the chrome sections.

Fork boots (gaiters) - to protect chrome tubes Forks_10

the verticle section protrudes far enough forward to clear the bottom of the tripple where the shocks attach.

I know you asked for rubber gaiters, but there's always an alternative, especially if you ask on this forum

regards Bushy
