Last weekend my camping destination was Seamer in North Yorkshire. I normally take either the outfit or the Vincent when camping, but I thought it was about time to see if I could get all my kit on the solo K.

K Kamping Seamer10

As you can see, I don't do 'lightweight' camping, but I didn't have to use the middle section of the tankbag so next time I could take more stuff.

With the standard RS fairing, you are restricted to packing your luggage along the bike rather than across the back, otherwise you can only see your kit in the mirrors!

K Kamping Seamer11

I do like to be able to stand up in my tent and have somewhere to sit comfortably with my Kindle and i-pod when it rains (occasionally!!!)

It was very windy up north on Friday and one of my fibreglass tent poles split whilst erecting the tent. A quick repair was made with my blue cable ties, so no great problem. I did have to use all my (blue) guy lines though.

Saturday I rode down to Filey with a friend where we had an obligatory ice cream on the sea front, and then on to Flamborough Head. I couldn't get the bike in the picture, but the coastline here is quite attractive.

K Kamping Flambo10

Hit a few heavy showers on Saturday; why oh why can't BMW make a waterproof tankbag...my maps just survived turning into papier mache.

So, a dry ride there, good company, pubs and food, a dry tent on Sunday morning and a dry ride home, what more could you want?

This week I'll be off to Devon, so which which bike shall I take on Friday?....decisions, decisions!

Paul.

Now that's colour coordination!
What a hard life you have, mate...shall I take the Vinnie this week? Cool
I was looking at tank bags today at a bikeshop in Tamworth...came home empty handed.

I have a very neat transparent tank bag cover. I have two tank bags, both magnetic, neither works on the K for me for some reason.....But they do have good covers. A good alternative is a shower cap...! Dont say I told you.

Yes I have the OEM waterproof cover, but who is going to stop during a heavy shower to utilise it.
My point was that if BMW can make a waterproof cover, why can't they make a waterproof bag?
Seems logical to me.
Paul.

Still lovin' the two tone blue on that RS Paul. The pointed pintstripe and two tone paint give it a slightly Batbike look to it!

Holy caped crusaders!!!! You havn't been wearing your blue flysheet tied around your neck have you??? Twisted Evil
