Took the bike through Cairngorm at the weekend, over to see a mate near Beauly. Bloomin cold on the way over - snow on the road at the Lecht was a surpise - much more and I would have had to turn back. A couple of stops needed to do some vigorous clapping - oh for heated grips! Crystal clear air with superb vsisbility though and bright sun. A good ride - with a beer or two at the end of it. Warmer coming home and another bright dry day. Not huge miles, about 250 but all good, varied and challenging roads with some fine twisties.

After cutting the seat foam down I've now reverted to my spare standard seat. Ergonomically it's a heap better. The low seat was good for getting my feet down but a terrible position otherwise.

That's a great photo! Snow on the mountains in the distance, a scene that unfolds for miles, and a fine looking 16V motorbike in the foreground. Did you say snow on the road? Isn't it nearly late Spring there by now? No wonder Robert the Bruce was blue!

Thanks Guest. yeah I guess mid-late spring this far north - but it's an unusually cold week so I was taken by surprise a bit! Just about half a mile of slush at the top of the hill and a light dusting in some shaded places in Strathdon. Yeah I tell you before the 20th Century this place would've been a really harsh place to live!

Best
Dave
