Hi All!

stupid question time! when cold and idle, engine runs rough, warms up runs ok, but at cruise 3500-4500 rpm tach, speedo stable, i can feel a hesitation in the seat of my pants. changed fuel a few times, so its fresh, replaced the crankcase breather pipe, runs better, but still get the minor surging in the seat. any ideas?

Have you replaced the spark plugs, checked the plug leads are OK and done a maintenance check on all of the plugs and connectors that are in the electrical circuits involved in fuel supply and ignition? Any of these could be giving you the miss-firing that it sounds like you are getting. It is worth going over every connector including the big ones to the EFI box and the Ignition box and treating them all with Deoxit to clean them up and then protect them.

It is also well worth checking for air leaks into the intake manifolds, through the little caps on the throttle balance ports and on the rubber gaskets between the various intake tract bits or at the fuel injectors. Use carb cleaner or propane or butane gas to check for leaks
