Did have future readers in mind, Charlie........and as said I`m guessing.

One of the advantages with a forum, as I see it........
to tell about what we are satisfied with.

But also about what might be a chance to end up as the opposite.

the point i was makeing was that motorworks were very helpful to a novice (myself) who struggles to identify the correct name of parts. very patient, in listening and helpful in there knowledge to ensure i understood the part and it,s use. makeing sure i was satified that i was ordering the right part.

the other supplier was rude and started to argue, thus i said stuff your parts your attitude stinks. i just wanted to say a big thankyou to motorworks.

Yesterday I ordered some parts from Motorworks, and they were on my doorstep this morning.

I always get good service from them, and as you have found out, they are very willing to talk through any problems.

Well maybe not any problem, as I'm sure they are not marriage guidance councillors. Very Happy

Hi Lesso,

Ever thought about joining the BMW (UK) club?

As the post /5 Tool Hire Secretary, I hold loads of the BMW special tools and manuals, plus there are loads of social activities that one can participate in.

Yet another ringing endorsement of just how rude and unhelpful James Sherlock can be - he is a hugely knowledgeable man when it comes to BMW bikes and has an enormous stock of quite rare bits etc - but sadly, he is totally lacking in people skills. Thankfully he is based close enough to me for me to visit him within an hours ride and administer a good kicking - perhaps he has realised that fact now and treats me ok, if still a little abrupt in his manner ! However, if I can source the bits that I need from Motobins or Motorworks I would go to them every time Evil or Very Mad

It always amazes me that a person in business would act in such a manner to customers. We are such sensitive little bunnies and any sign of abruptness, innattention, rudeness, disorganisation, etc., has us running for the next option quick smart. Yet these people manage to stay in business because in the end they have the part, the knowledge, the skill, etc., to stay where they are and continue as they have. I think it's an old school manner and can recall very many motorbike shops where I've done business over the years who had personnel you'd have to set right from the word go.

There was one in Portland, Oregon, a longtime purveyor of British bike parts who, if he didn't like you from the moment you walked in, or dared to ask what he deemed a stupid question, would never forgive you. He had a memory like a steel trap and a sharp word for every 'idiot'. But he had the goods, charged accordingly, and after he sold off most of his lot a few years back, probably died a very rich and very lonely man.

It's a good thing we have some honest traders to obtain our bits from. I prefer Motobins, have bought a fair bit from Motorworks too, and quite a few from the local Aussie sources and from the States as well. They serve us well.

In the spirit of the local council election going on today here in Queensland, I say, vote with your wallet!
