solved during Winter - OK - down under is the excepion

Ive done:

- Final drive changed to a rebuild one

- spline lubrikation

- New O-ring behind the clutch

- Sidestand switch now without worn wires

- Gearswitch changed

(my first atempt to repair the old one ended after 1/100 sec , leading to the awareness that I´ll not make a fool out of me chasing 5 micro splings an plugs in an chaotic garage)

- Oil complete new

- Starter with new brushes

- Generator as well

- adapting all lockcylinder to the ignitionkey

2012 - here we comeready for 2012 season ? what probs have you 723598

Go Olaf, good to see you've survived the winter.
I was thinking of undoing my gear switch, glad I didn't.

Large clear plastic bags were meant for the curious types out there. No not for putting over the heads of the curious types but for opening the switches in. My wife thinks I have a bag fettish. yeah right if only she knew.

Bet that seemed like longer as you watch the springs fly in slow motion....NNnnooooooohhH 🐒 !

I repainted the front fork legs and disc centres, repaired the radiator surround fitted new tyres and repaired a tank leak this winter. Thankfully the spring days are looking better for a ride.

I'm off from work next week and plan to pull off the back end and the transmission box to get at, inspect and lubricate the splines between clutch and transmission.

Bike is new to me (2 years ago) and I've done the easier-to-get-at splines, but I'm looking forward to seeing these deeper ones for the first time and having some 'peace of mind'.

Now if the highway department would just remove the sand, grit and salt that has accumulated on the roads, I'd be set to go.

I've read the 'how to's', read the Clymer manual, watched the YouTube videos and rehearsed the job. Looking forward to it, but will probably come back to the forum with some questions of my own.

Update:

Generator rubbers mounted wrong...

loud noise

dismounting the generator only possible if ABS2 Module is dismounted as well Twisted Evil

when mounting the hyd. tubes again I´ve killed 2 threads from the rear system,

Got a New ABS2 module from R1100rs - but didn´t work in the K

changing the software from R to K didn´t work with BMW Hamburg

now Ive changed the "brains" from the K Module to the R module

now it works just fine again.

good link to that prob:

ABS2 solutions
