Hey There...
My K100RT has lower fairing and crash bar on it.
I would like to put highway pegs on it, but think that its not possible with lowers on it.
Where I live in the Central Ca valley it gets HOT in summer.
Thought--??-Take off lowers for summer and add pegs to existing crash bars???
Anyone ever done or seen any application like this? Question
Thanks
Eric

You cannot put Highway pegs on a RT if you keep the lowers. Sometime, I wish that I have them to be able to stretch my legs during long Highway trips. The lowers are too wide to consider this option without degrading comfort.

This is not a bad idea, but this will require few spare parts.

The fairing looks ugly if you don't have the knee pads. You will need a spare set that you could cut to the appropriate length.

Highway Pegs on a RT? Fossils2011pics022

I did it on my RT and I find it quite helpful on long trips. Just bolted standard aftermarket pegs available everywhere on my "crash" bars. I will see if I have a picture.

here is a pic showing one:

having ridden without lowers i can tell you ....without the vacuum effect of the lowers sucking heat out of the under tank area ....the heat behind the fairing sits there real good ,,as it is just sitting in low presure air space ...if you want to try it ...mount a temperature guage on the right hand pocket and measure comparitivly with lowers and then without ......i figure that the vacuume of the main screen sucks heat up from the engine area and it just become rediculously warm all the time .

supporting evidence is tank temperatures of faired bikes being much cooler than my "no lowers " beast ......but ...it does let you get your legs out in the breeze ...thank hevens
