Hi,

I've been around BM's for 34years and K's for 27 years. I came across this Forum last week, which gives some idea of my computer abilities, an area where grandchildren come in very useful.

Motorcycle camping rallies are my current obsession, with the Vincent Owners Club and the Federation of Sidecar Clubs; last year I managed 28 rallies from February through to November. The first one this year will be the first weekend in march.

I've had 15 years of racing with pre and post war British singles and a few years trials riding, always with the competition bikes towed behind whatever sidecar outfit I was running at the time. Currently it's my '86 K100RS with a Martello sidecar.

My solo K was given away by Bike Magazine in '84, painted by Dream Machine in their two-tone blue colour scheme and I bought it from the winner in '85, when his insurance expired and he couldn't afford to insure it. That started my affair with K's and prompted me to build the K outfit in '88. There's nothing on the market that appeals to me at present, so I'll stick with my lovely K's.

Welcome Paul,

I'm sure the knowledge and experience you bring will be reallly valuable.
It would be interesting to see a photo of your solo K in particular (my Mrs had to help me figure out the photo upload so your grandkids might come in useful again!)

All the best
Dave

Welcome Paul, I too would love to see a pic of the Solo and your RS sidecar outfit...once you've figured it out (you need to be a member for 7 days in order to post photo's).

With so much experience to share we'll look forward to your input.

Welcome Paul, we may become buddies. Very Happy

Guess what I got for Christmas?.... A sub-frame for my K100rt.
30 years ago, I had sidecars but had to sell my last street outfit as I was riding it like on the speed track.
This was too dangerous and my life was too important. Now, I am older and wiser Old rider, new forum. 44271 and am considering a k100 outfit.
I would enjoy to see pictures and any technical documentation about your sidecar.

Cheers,

Bert

Thanks for the welcome.

When I'm able, I'll post some pictures of the bikes.

Bert, I have a Wasp subframe, forks and 15" wheels. Maybe we could get a sidecar section somewhere. Any other K outfits out there?

Paul.

Hi sidecar paul,

I'm very envious of your bike history.

The K is a popular platform for sidecars in Australia. Many are owner designed and built as "outback" machines. Often seen in the hacks section of the advrider forum. Get the grand kids to take you there.

Cheers, dee why

Greeting from Dino

Welcome to the forum Paul. It has been a wild week since you contacted me about the Pichler items for sale. I look forward to the e-mails and pictures we have shared and the rich history both of us have in riding motorcycles. I will look forward to the many posts to the forum that will be placed by you. To all the other members we have gained a new friend who can impart much needed wisdom how life works in England on two wheels.
