As the title says! I only noticed this today when manoeuvring out of a tight space the choke light only comes on with handle bars turned left. Common problem? Easy fix?

First thing would be to check the multi pin plug at the back of the instruments. Make sure it isn't getting strain on it when the steering is turned.
Some time the pins need to be bent a tiny bit off square to make them work or if they are the square type (not round) pins then a slight twist of about 5deg will sort them out.
Also check for broken wires where the harnes flexes near the steering head, it happens sometimes.

Whoa before any pin bending or twisting is done I strongly recommend a thorough cleaning with DeoxIT following the full two step cleaning process and then checking if that has helped.

Well I will admit that it is a bit drastic and that even just unpluging it and repluging it can work wonders. I have had to deal with a few over the years and eventually they needed a tweaking of the pins after cleaning etc.

Ha, I won't carry that on. Reading myself to sleep last night, in a Jaycar
catalog, they sell a little gizmo that straightens those pins out. Beats breaking one off. (they sell that stuff that cleans contacts too)
