There is a streak from gas that has dripped from the filler neck down the side of the tank. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it?

Depends on how bad the stain is...if it's been there for years, I'd take it to a panel beater and ask them. They're professionals.

If it's fairly recent and not too bad, you could get some cut and polish creme, gently remove the stain without taking too much paint off, polish it and apply wax.

Is there a clear coat on the paint? I don't want to do any serious damage.

Yer got me there. An educated guess would be that they didn't originally.

Someone will buzz in if I'm wrong.

On my K75 there was a coat of clear but not much of it and it was the original paint.

If there is a clear coat it will be the one that is stained so a cut and polish may be of limited use but it certainly would be worth a try.

Yes I would agree with a light cut polish. Had that on another bike of mine, and it came right out.
