hey guys .....i finally got a new sidestand bolt and bush .
im a little disapointed with the loose fit between the bolt and the bush . is this normal ?
my old bolt was just an ill fitting threaded section (no shank = plain metal ) on it at all and had quite a bit of movement so i thought replacement would be good option .
but alas it isnt soo good after all , i seem to have about 1/2 a mill gap between the 2 items allowing for a quite a good deal of movement on the bolt/bush axis.
i think im going to have to get an engineering shop to turn a new bush up . or is there a "correct bolt" available without so much lateral movement in the bush .
the one i have looks the correct part , with the tapered section for the spring retaining bracket .
or am i going about this the wrong way ?
is it the retension arm bracket that i should be modifing to eliminate the movement of the sidestand when it takes load ?
