Hi from sunny Belfast!

I’m Graham, and a few months ago, I took on a project bike – a 1989 K100 RS with 60,000 miles.

The bike was sold to me as “working with EasyStart” but with a defective fuel tank. The frame and bodywork are in good shape, though even after addressing some initial issues, it’s still not starting.

My plan is to get it running and possibly transform it into a cafe racer or scrambler. I’m a novice mechanic, but I’ve got great support from a local bike club here in Belfast called the Bike Pit. The club offers not only mechanical help but also a bit of mental support to men in the community.

Looking forward to any advice to help get this beauty back on the road!

Welcome too. You will also find a FB group in Ireland, lots of help and parts access in it and love to see you on board. We all have lots of Ks, most of us have more than one. We also meet up from time to time and Dai will fill you in on some of these too.

Hi Graham

Olaf has misled you slightly there. I believe there is an Irish (whole island) K100 Facebook group but I don't do Facebook. I generally don't do social media at all, bar this forum and three others.

Post your questions though; I can pretty much guarantee that we'll have answers. If you end up buried so far in the shite that you have no idea which way is up; well, Belfast ain't that far away. Which area?

There are quite a few K owners across Ireland who don't use FB and social media. I had one knock on my door at work last week! Strangely now I find the FB group and the forum here has a significant number of members who only do one of the two so we try to cover both. I am always happy to take a request from here if there is anything you need and pop it up on the FB group.
