Hi Team,

sorry for the blasphemy posting here something regarding the ugly stepchild, but I do think there are quite a few folks here with knowledge about my bike, possibly even owners (but I won't tell!!).

I have a problem with my screen that it only goes down (perfectly), but using the up-button has no effect. IIRC there were others with similar issues quite some time ago, but I can't find the posts. Probably wrong search terms (or just plain  drunken) so would appreciate your advise.

Thanks, Rene

That sounds like a broken wire to me. If so, it will be most likely at the switch end (oh hell - isn't the switch integral to the l/h side cluster on the K1200? If so, then maybe the problem isn't likely to be there) or at the microswitch. If the microswitch has thrown its toys out of the pram and popped the side off then yes, the screen will still go down but not rise again.

Having recently helped someone fix an electrical problem on an K1200, I don't envy you trying to get at the wiring for the screen.
