I would suggest a call to BSK. They are good at responding to queries.
Have you attempted to adjust the 'turnbuckle' mechanism in and out to keep the shift lever in a steady state position? I'm sure it needs to have a certain tension to stay aligned - it appears from your pictures, but not your description, to be slipping beyond the ideal position.
Do you see the alignment mark on the end of the splined shaft on your gearbox? That generally has to be aligned with the gap in the shift lever. Go to BSK's website and look at how they have mounted the lever of all of the race bikes. It is positioned at nearly twelve o'clock high. That may be yer problem.

TWB's right (as usual ) The gearbox-thingy-bit has to be perpendicular to the ground (i.e. pointing straight up) to get the gearbox shift mechanism to work correctly. As it is at the moment, you're only getting a partial shift in the box and the dogs are not engaging correctly.

The four axles need to form a parallelogram. If the linking rod is too short, you can't shift properly.
