So im trying to send my first private message to a member, and now a few days later I noticed my message was in my Outbox, but not in the "sentbox" 
Does this mean it wasnt sent?

This simply means it has not been read by the recipient.

It will transfer to 'sentbox' once it has been eyeballed.
