Was looking at this Tuesday near lady's view , the roads a very good , 1500 miles of twisting tarmac with very little traffic real bike country , warning they are far more twisty than on the map , my guess is its a 2 week ride to enjoy whats there , maybe later this year , the only bikes I saw where bmw twins .

Some of those roads are barely wide enough to get a car down - seriously. If you meet one, even on a bike, it can be a struggle to get by. It's worth the ride but be aware of that problem. Olaf has done more of it than I have.

Start to finish , was in Seafield? Really nice and have decided to go to the start and try the whole route , either bmw or Harvey, I think would be lucky to see 40mph at any point so a fast bike is not required, even the goldwing would be over kill

I did much of it as a teenager on a Yamaha 125 and also a Honda CD175. More than adequate and they carried my camping equipment too.

Average speed should be assumed at 30mph and no more. You are right about the 40mph too. Partly due to the roads and curves and partly due to distractions, photo stops etc.

I am off to some of it next weekend.

I drove this road 10 years ago, sadly in a rental car...I'm still dreaming of riding again there on a motorcycle!

At Last! A real enthusiast's route ride recommendation, and coming from the European side is welcome, and refreshing since we get so much from the other side of "the pond" and from Down Undah.

Do please show us some piccies and a map.

I have free time, too.

The big thing about the Wild Atlantic Way is there are such nice places just a small detour off it. Sneem is on the route, in Kerry. But if you take a wee detour up to Lady's View at Killarney you pass this place where you can dine outside.

Its a nice 90 minute ride from my house too so its an occasional ride for breakfast with my son. The photo is the first course of breakfast......but the countryside is awesome.

That Wild Atlanrtic Way map is missing about 100 miles at the bottom. It starts at Kinsale where I spent my afternoon walking along the east side of the Harbour. Of course a K bike was used to get there.
