I am in the process of converting a R100R from a sidecar back to a solo. It currently has leading links so I need a set of forks and am told the K75 forks are the same. What I need is the forks, fork brace and front mudguard. Preferrably off a RT or C as, from memory, the S forks have a little less travel. Does anyone have these available in Aus?

I have an R100R Mystic. The forks are similar to a K, but there are visual differences on the triple clamps on the R to a K's standard suspension. I can throw a tape measure over them both for comparison purposes later on.

Yes thanks if you will do that It'd be useful to know. I suppose diameter (should be 41mm), length from the top to the axle and distance between the fork centres would be a good check. Parts specifically for the R100R are like rocking horse shit around here.

just a note .

i believe the r100 type that uses the same forks and wheel has a narrower head stock by about 2 mm

reason for saying that is i got some spacers from tom in newcastle , which were 2 mm shorter than k100 - k75

measuring 25 mm instead of 27mm (this is the left hand side ) . the rhs spacer is the same

that was one of his issues setting up his last k100 ...when the disks ran too close to the fork leg , i guess , as he had previously had many r80 - 90 - 100 parts in his store he inadvertently placed a r100 spacer instead of a k100

hope that helps

Thanks Charlie. I dont think it will really matter as I have the R100R headstock, front wheel, axle and calipers as long as the diameter is the same, axle size is the same and the overall lengths are the same. It'll need a bit of sussing out and checking. If it is a bit narrower I'll need the correct fork brace and maybe mudguard.

I can tell you the standard K100RS forks and the K75 ''S' forks bolt straight up to a Monolever framed Airhead. That's what my old converted /7 in OZ used, either set, for a few years. It's parked with the 'S' forks fitted to it on the Sunshine Coast as I type. Same two-piece mudguard as a K bike. Of course, no provision for attaching ignition apparatus & etc., but that's easily fettled.

I do not have a standard K100/K75 fork to measure here, as I thought, only Marzocchi K11 stuff available in my stash.

Thanks TWB, I'll shop around and see what I can come up with. I'm not in any particular hurry, the basic time line is the end of the year as it becomes eligable for historic rego in 2025 and the cost difference is substantial.
