Is it the case that the fuel tank should never be allowed to run empty, because that could damage the fuel pump?

I suppose fuel has to be delivered at some pressure, higher than gravity can provide?

If tanks sit for extended periods, as in years, and the gas in the tank has ethanol in it then the ethanol absorbs humidity. When you get enough water in the gas it will rust and destroy the fuel level sender.

It doesn't matter if you run out of fuel as far as the fuel pump is concerned.

Interesting price, Duck. It would indicate that the units are made in the UK and then shipped to EuroMoto because that's pretty much the same price. If the shipping direction was the other way about I'd expect to see a £270 price tag here, courtesy of the usual dollar-sterling straight conversion.

They all look the same from Motorworks, EME & K Holland. If I had to guess I'd say they're all made in China or Vietnam.

The most noticeable difference seems to be the plastic connector at the base:

You're probably right about China. Prices are all pretty much the same so a best guess is that whoever is distributing them, it's a single-source manufacturer.
