A bit about me: my first bike was early chopper, Royal Enfield Indian, a move on Indian's part to get in on the vertical twin craze of the early sixties, all chrome and aluminum, the rest was lavender. Easy Rider for sure. Detached valve guides bouncing around inside the cylinder head destroyed it. Next bike some years later, a Norton Commando Fastback basket case; it was my favorite, a safe "British bike" that kept me off the streets for years when my testosterone was at its max. Years later I sold it for a Honda Pacific Coast intro touring bike; I knew the Norton would never survive. I rode the Honda with a buddy riding a Gold Wing (10,000 miles in a month) which I named " One Lap around America which is exactly what we did starting in NJ. Everyone should do it once. That was back in the early Ninety's, no bikes at all til now. Actually I did have a few trail bikes but I did not do much with them. Now that I'm an old fart I was thinking about visiting friends who have been complaining about my not coming to see them, I'm a bit of a barnacle about that. Hence the K bike! It does have some issues but more about that in another post.
