Hi All its been a long time since on forum just getting my bike back on road. The headlight switch fails to flick to high beam its feels blocked headlight flash works ok and low beam  taken the switch off appears something is adrift inside or return spring etc has broken dI dont want to go in without some advice  Thanks in advance Coopz

That's a common problem. There is a small detent which needs to have a slight lead in by putting a taper on the plastic edge it passes over.
it is easy to over do the taper and then the switch will slip back to lo beam. I use an old points file or even a nail file, take it a tiny bit at a time, you will notice a big improvement with a very slight taper. take it easy and as soon as you feel a change stop at that.

If you're like me and just don't like using Scotchloks/wiring taps/whatever-they're-called, here's another solution that doesn't involve touching the OEM wiring harness  at all:

As ever, once you've fixed the high beam switch, the idea is to get the load off the contacts so that they won't overheat again.

I love the quality of the EB kit (I use the H/L switch bypass loom and the aux fuse box) BUT UK residents, watch out for the import duty.

Big thumbs up for the Eastern Beaver harness.  The quality is amazing and it makes a big difference in light output from the reduced circuit resistance. 

It's one of the first mods I do when I get a bike.  Installed five of them so far.

He did tell me he used to ride a 1985 K100RS when I ordered a relay kit for mine. He's from Canada originally, but I don't remember the city.

Ontario.

He was going to move EB to the Vancouver area but then gave up when he found out how regulated and taxed it would be.
