This is now sold.

[s]Hi, Selling my LT for $1,000 with a whole lot of extras. The rego just ran out on the 25th and it needs a new set of tyres otherwise I'd re-rego it. Since lockdown ended I've been busy and let this slip past me. The broken Odo says 123900Kms, the same as the day I bought it (: I've put about 3000 more Kms into it, but the actual number is an unknown.

Bike has served me well. Did 3 trips out West NSW with it in the couple years I've owned it. Rides well enough for a 27 year old bike. I'm not doing the job I was when I got it so I just need a little nipper for the city and can't keep on top of the care and attention an ageing bike needs without garage space.

It has a few... "Bush" fixes I needed to do when I was out West hiding from Covid. The "ON" key switch wire was shorting and would cut out when you turned left so I re-wired it through the hazard light switch (who needs hazard lights on a motorbike anyway?). To turn the bike on you unlock the steering lock (I have the original BMW key that fits it and the panniers) then just flick the switch, push the starter and you're off. The cover for the radio is screwed down because the latch became brittle and snapped. The black plastic pannier frame has been reinforced with steel where it had cracked and been painted black. Strong enough to hold everything fully loaded for 2 trips West and back.

Has been kicked over parked at the train station so has some proper scratches on the RHS mirror plastic and a replacement mirror glass.

Has the "touring" clutch plate on the off chance it developed (which it did) a slight oil leak from the RMS. It will slip if you wring its neck in top gear, but is stable for normal riding. There's a whole thread about it in my history. I reckon the stop disc needs to be a 1.25mm one not the 1mm that's fitted.

Left, right touring panniers are in 27 year old shape but don't let water in, L one has a bit of a loose latch that attaches it to the bike. I sling a ratchet strap around it and the frame for big trips to be safe. Top box lid has separated from the hinges. Again I just sling a strap around it and it stays on fine. Also have a BMW branded cloth liner bag.

Radio and remote control works (antenna missing but still picks up stations fine), electric windscreen works, ABS works, battery is good, changed the oil and filter, gearbox input seal, RMS/clutch about 400Kms ago. Front brakes were reconditioned, rubber seals and pads replaced by Procycles in Jan 2020, 3000Kms ago. Prior to that it had a full fuel system clean and fork seals replaced in Dec 2020 Has a folder full of service history with it going up to 2020.

Clymer manual has seen a few greasy hands over the years.

It would suit a K aficionado that has the garage space to diagnose the RMS issue or someone with frankenbike plans. It runs well enough, took me 300Ks back to Sydney end of lockdown without complaining. It just has the RMS weirdness and needs new tyres and you're on. [/s]

If I lived in Oz you'd be looking at the stumps of both arms by now.

Good grief, what a nice Christmas gift that would make for me.
I would purchase it immediately if there wasn't so much water between Australia and Canada.

Dear "Syd-Knee" Could you drop me an email to discuss please.  Not sure if we can PM on the forum yet as I'm a newbie.  Email is asnashall@gmail.com  Cheers, Alan in Can-Berra:-)

Better still Syd, Can I put dibs on it, and can we discuss before anyone else gets a crack at it?  I'm in Canberra so not far away and I am interested.  I'm loathe to post my phone number in case it gets gathered up and it causes problems.  Cheers, Alan

Old mate read the post wrong and doesn't want it. It's going to be first in best dressed anyway. I'm not advertising it on gumtree or whatever until next monday. I'd rather it goes to a K head than a cannibal. I know how hard some of those touring bits are to track down, don't want them to end up in a scrapyard. If anyone else wants in hit them DMs

Still available, can you assist with

When I look up TPT coy I get a former military division. I take it you mean courier?

So there's a slight hiccup in that I've been told to stay inside by the health department until this weekend. All negative, but might as well be safe hey? I've had some in person interested people I've had to postpone. I'd prefer those as the courier thing is a classic scam and I've had someone try it on before.

What kind of arrangements would you make and with whom?

Ok, cancel then. I would need to arrange courier after payment to you, because I'm out of country right now, cannot make the trip myself which I'd normally do.
And I appreciate your concerns. If you change your mind email me direct ravenmaritime@gmail.com

There are transporters that specialise in motorcycles only.  I think there are at least a couple that run on the east coast.  Usually it is door to door.  It may be a few hundred dollars but quite straightforward as I had a bike transported from Cairns to Brisbane a fair while ago.

Yes I've had the pick up at my place in the past. Thanks.
