Hi

Just picked up a 1982 K100 RS for a cafe racer project

Previously worked on Lambrettas so sure I will be asking loads of questions as I get deeper into the project

If you got 82 you have a very rare K100RS, if its anyway good it might be an idea to keep as is but pre 84 Ks have a lot of parts that are not as readily available.

Hi Gareth, my good fellow, before you whip out your chopping tackle post the VIN Number and ask TWB to find the history, it could be you have something more valuable than you know. ASK first CHOP later Very Happy Very Happy

OK,I think its a good idea to check the vin in the logbook against the vin on the frame just in case. TWB enjoys finding the history and it gives  a little more soul to the Ks we  own New K100 Owner from the UK 112350 Enjoy

On the engine under the oil filler cap there is a vertical smooth panel. Engine number is stamped on it.

The last part is 2 sets of 4 digits. Post up those 2 sets. The last set is the number, the set before it is the date code, eg 3583 is week 35 of 1983.

If you find you do have a bike too good to be chopped, let me know. I have a 1988 K75 stalled Cafe project I purchased from someone else.
I'd rather move that on to you than see a good/rare whole bike get Cafe'd.  New K100 Owner from the UK 112350
