Hello all,
when I removed the offside triangular side fairing panel to get better access to the top suspension mount I found this situation. There appears to be a missing fastener but I cannot see anything in Haynes or Clymer to assist me. If I may post a photo ( Shocked ) this will show what I can’t see. My fat index digit indicates the area. All responses welcomed (with photos of what should be there if they are permitted!).
BW,
J

The rubber absorber for the coolant bottle & battery holddown.

Post you bike's specifics in the signature section of your profile so it appears to us - less guessing over details particular to different models.

How do you know it's showing something if you can't see it? Smile This reminds me of a sign I saw painted on the side of a window shade installer's truck when I was a kid, This truck is being driven by a blind man. Also, next time, use a pencil point, shishkebab skewer or fencing foil as a pointer.

Like TWB indicates, here's a photo from Haynes.

Here is the part from Ringfad's reference as it is oriented in Hayne's photo, its top portion protruding through the hole. Its shaft would engage the grommet in the diagram Arlina provided.

25mm M6 allen bolt with two penny washers and a nylock nut. Problem solved Very Happy Or if you're feeling particularly lazy and the rubber washer isn't perished i.e. it's gripping the bolt pretty well, you can forget one penny washer and the nylock nut.

Reminds me of a TV news report I once watched while on a visit to Wales. The towns shed had been nicked from next to the bowling green. The reporter interviews Mrs Davis who made a statement: "I walked around the corner and there it was - gone!" This has made me smile, every time that I think about it, for years now.
