Looks like I backed off the throttle lock on my 87 K100LT a bit to much, it's now missing.

I'm WTB a replacement Throttle Lock and screw if you have one laying around. The paint can be rough but it needs to be functionable.

That's perfect, thanks.

I'll order one of those when I get a replacement throttle lock.

What is the "throttle lock" to which you refer?

The right hand bar end weight. I take it, it does not act as a throttle lock?

Is this what you are looking for?

https://www.wunderlichamerica.com/BMW_R1200_RS_Throttle_Lock_Motorcycle

I've had one on a couple of my bikes as well as the simple BMW screw.  IMO the BMW screw is preferable.  I can adjust it so it just holds the throttle position without adding noticeable drag to the twist grip action.  It is very good at holding the drag adjustment.

The Wunderlich is nice, but I find that it has a tendency to lose the adjustment so I have to constantly be tightening it so it will hold the throttle when I let go of the grip.  Being on a K100, the vibrations in the handlebars keeps loosening the adjustment unless I tighten it so much it makes the throttle hard to turn.

Point-seven-five, thanks for the search link. What you described sounds like what I'm looking for but the piece shown does not fit my bike.

Unfortunately, the sources for what you're looking for, Throttlemeister and Wunderlich no longer make throttle locks for K bikes. Throttlemeister is out of business and Wunderlich has discontinued their model for the classic K's.

There might be some used units out there, but they are pretty rare. You are better off just installing a bar end weight and using the superior(and much simpler) BMW throttle screw.

They're pretty easy to make with a piece of aluminium angle and basic hand tools.

MartinW, that's interesting. What I need is the bar end. I was hoping someone might have one in a bin or a box on the shielf.
I'll be looking at e-bay next.
I wouldn't mind seeing more of your throttle lock, it's very cool.

More piccies which should help you if you wish to make one. I've probably made 6 over the years.  Piccie 1 Charlie 99 has one with the thumb paddle trimmed along the black line due to larger hands. Piccie No 2 shows where I trimmed the inner flange off the grip using a piece of dowel pushed up the grip. I then stuck in my lathe and used a surgical scalpel to trim it down carefully. you could achieve the same results using an electric drill holding a nail driven into the dowel. Even with the throttle lock engaged you are still able to open and close the throttle if you don't overdo it. It's a lot easier to use than the OEM throttle lock.

Thank you MartinW for the addition pictures. I just might sit down and make one of these. Looks like a clean install.
