Hey there,

New to the forums & new to old BMW motorcycles. I've had a couple e39's & an e36.

Looking forward to learning as much as possible!

Thanks!

An e39 is a 5 series BMW from around 1997 - 2003.

An e36 is a 3 series BMW from around the same years.

They use chassis codes for their cars.

I have a buddy with a VFR800, he loves that bike.

I'd love an E92 someday!

Was the engine cold when you were changing oil and filter?

Yep, cold as ice. Was that a poor choice?

Yes. Changing on a warmed up engine allows a greater flow of used oil from the engine and the heat expands the pesky filter increasing ease of its removal.
