Hi all,
If anyone wants to share specs for leading link shocks I’d be grateful. Particularly spring rate, damping rate and manned outfit weight that would be great.
Reason for asking is that when I got my outfit it had Hagon shocks with 35kg/cm springs on 320mm centres.
At that time I had never ridden an outfit and didn’t know how it should ride. The dampers were shot and not rebuildable and the whole front end set up felt really harsh. I’ve been running with a temporary solution but now want to buy a new pair.
I could take the easy route and just replace with 35kg spring shocks but the PO was 2 to 3 times my weight and I don’t know if the spring weight was selected for him. The normal suppliers are quite cagey about how to arrive at the right number (Hagon saying: if you think 35 is too much, try 26).
The problem is with zero other experience, I don’t know if 35 is too strong (only that my current 12kg/cm is way too soft).
TIA, Stu
