Ive had my K100 for 3 years. I bought it from an older gentleman who owned it for 7 years, enjoyed it, maintained it, made some trips on it but now needed to sell personal reasons, which he told me about. Im a good judge of character and this was a decent man. We walked over the bike and talked about it while it warmed up and then he let me test ride it. Well, from the moment I pulled out of the parking lot I told myself that I couldnt possibly hack this thing up into what ever trend I was thinking of doing to it. The man had his money and I had a K100...

Looking back, I did get a good deal. I didnt know exactly what to look for with these bikes, but the owner was straight with me and his asking price was right. I got a box of spares and a manual with it. He had painted it bright yellow, which I hated but also understood why he did it, to be more visible. The seat I guess was torn so he went over it with a fabric type of duct tape, still holding up. So cosmetically not perfect but the second I got on, I forgot all about that. The yellow grew on me over time and now I really dont care about the color, slightly upset that it was originally silver. The odometer was broken, owner said he repaired it before and it broke again soon after and just left it. Ive estimated it have 35-45K miles, could be way off though as I really have no idea. Seemed like he had covered most of the miles on the odo before it broke and then rode less over the years.
