A whatsapp message from the local motormechanic with some pictures, bit info and a price comes in.
Enough to grab some personal gear and get canned in my four wheeler to zap myself over.
Down to business, I told him "gimme the key, or I will burn down your village".
Quick as lightning he started up the bike.

Well, what does a K75 wich is as good as new? This one is not much different.
I noted both forks leak, wich made calipers and pads as fat as a fresh hamburger.
Seems like the big seal of the outputshaft got pissed, will take it along on a big service, wich no one knew when it was last done.
2 bulbs from the contour in the cluster didn't work, has no clock, geardisplay went walhalla, speedo is dead, odo works.
Bike comes with an original complete windscreen and barns (some call it panniers...), locks look like never used and work perfect.
Good one for flat locks Smile

Left me no option than pay the good guy and free him from the papers (of the bike)

The next day I went to pick up the bike, my bro brought me with his car, and was nice enough to stop it to let me out.
Rode home but it was totally bugger.
Everywhere cars driving.
Only got satisfied by the thought my lift table stood ready.

All parts for the big service I had ready, including some parts I wanted to fix or replace for better.
While the coffee and me made strange noises, one on the sink and one on the phone, to get it insured, the bike was cooling down.

First the front, new seals and oil, some nice harmonica rubbers, new pads and floating disks. took me 1 hour.
Tapped oil at 3 places, coolant, remove plastics, seat, ass, and finally the tank.
Surprise, besides some rust on the frame found mold on the plastic parts.
Could be the late sandwich of the last one who did service.
Took off the loom and more (smelly) plastic parts.
Cleaned the frame from rust, whereby I kept the frame and threw away the rust, had a tinny on a good job.
Painted the frame in original color, cleaned the plastic parts from the mold, and got high. Move on next day.
Also took the inlet manifold off, to clean it from dust, placed it back with some grease, a gentle hand, and a big hammer.
Injectors got a good cleanup, and new seals. Rail got repainted.
All parts I got cleaned soon went back on the bike like BMW ment them.

Had a nice rear rack original BMW somewhere, after a paintjob and some drilling it now rest on the back.
The instrument cluster, seems to be important, got his overhaul and upgrades, such as blue leds for contour and a digital Voltmeter. Didn't have a spare clock.
With testing the leds on the bike, decided to start the bike and check the gearindicator. The original speedo seems happy about the upgrades, and worked as it has never been different. Lucky me... close the lunchbox and install on the bike.

Time to get the gearbox off, remove clutch, seems the seal does not leak, only found dust of the clutchplate.
Cleaned the area, place the clutch back (wich measured as good) Staburags on the splines, put the gearbox back on, more splines to lube, and finally ass some oil in some holes.
Filled the coolant and got the bright idea to replace the brake fluid.
The old crap looked like 10W40, sucked it all out (have a special device for that, in case someone starts wondering....) and got new clear DOT5.1 in it.

Upgrade for the healight too, the standlight got a blue led wich beams around, headlight H4 looks a bit blue too. Fits Mrs. Blue Smile
Fit the tank, replaced the filter and opened the drainhole under the cap.
As final touch the fishing case on the back, citypanniers and gave the big blue radiatorcover a flower both sides.

The testride was boring.
BMW-boring.
The K75 runs exactly the way BMW ment is many many moons ago.
Damn, no superbike.

Altough, this younglady just not 35 years young does exactly what BMW ment with a motorbike, wich was appreciated by many.
She was perfect in 1985, and hasn't lost any of her glance.
She only missed a careful hand and a flower on the radiatorcover.
She is a SUPERBIKE  Very Happy
