Just been fettling with my K100RS.
Previous owner had done some electrical repairs to wiring. Poorly done.
On tidying up these repairs it occurred to me, That when wiring my boat I use Liquid electrical tape (brush on,liquid). Available at any good marine chandlery.
Use of this liquid tape is recommended when doing repairs with boats electrics as helps keeps saltwater & corrosion out. Why not use it on my bike?.
Digging in to older wiring repairs/ normal electrical tape the glue on tape had failed & is loose & failing off. Wires are often only twisted together rather than soldied.
So now I've decided on a new method. this will ensure no ingress of water or corrosion. After soldering wires I use the liquid electrical tape as well as heatshrink. Connection totally sealed.
Hope that's food for thought.
Have Fun, Poddy
