For people that lost the hook wrench I have designed it in 3D for printing.

The tool replace the original hook wrench with the purpose of measuring Transmission Oil Level in BMW K100RS 2V

I share the link to download  https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2842310

Sorry for my low skills in english

Hi,

These picture is one of the sources that I have used to design the model of the tool.

All information sources used by me are shared in the picture gallery of the link.

Thanks

Well done muy bien mentxo!
Good job, I’m sure somebody will need/print it.

Cheers

Hi Mentxo,

I am that man who needs this, however, typing on this forum is as computer literate as I get but, I have a friend with a 3d printer, do I just send him the link?

Many thanks

Dave

You could, but I just used a piece of 3mm metal rod, bent at right angles with enough length in the right angle piece to ensure that it can't fall into the sump.
A small triangular file notch at the max and min levels as shown in Rick G's post completes the zero cost item.  Smile

If you need the shock preload adjuster, they are easily and cheaply obtained.

Bill

Printing it may well serve you well only once as the oil will make the paper go soggy Tool for measuring the Gear transmission oil level 44271 Tool for measuring the Gear transmission oil level 44271 Tool for measuring the Gear transmission oil level 44271

I referred 3D printing. I have one 3D printer and I used ABS for print the tool because is most resistant than PLA. Wink

I use a DIY tool for this job.  I took a length of 1/4" square aluminum stock, jammed it  into a wooden screwdriver handle and cut off the length to 126mm from the handle.  Then I filed a notch 10mm from the cutoff end.  Simple and works a treat.

I took a piece of metal coathanger wire, bent a finger loop in it so it wouldn't fall into the transmission.  Flattened the end to make it easier to see the oil and filed a notch at the proper level.  I have them in all my tool kits and in the shop tool box.

Took about 10 minutes to make 4 or them.

I made one from coat hanger wire. Hammered the dip end flat and used a dremel to make the upper limit mark.
